Gigs are BACK and QM Have Got You Covered

We have all been waiting for the doors of venues to open wide, to be immersed in good music surrounded by good company and at last it’s a reality! Thankfully QM Records have got multiple events lined up, featuring brilliant artists from the Brighton and Hove area to keep you busy.


Friday 23rd of July at Green Door

Kicking off with the first show at The Green Door Store on the 23rd of July, labels CultDeep and QM have teamed up to curate an evening of musical brilliance. The set includes Hip Hops hottest up and coming artists who are ready to share new music after the lockdowns.


Brighton based trio CMPND are headlining the first show. Kemastry, Wundrop and Vitamin G formed CMPND in 2018 releasing their debut album Eagle Court a year later. Bringing fresh sounds to Grime and Drill through innovative production and unpredictable rhymes this is not a set to miss. The three piece have formed a dedicated following, establishing themselves well within the grime scene.


CultDeep will be performing a set featuring the incredible Skribblez who is set to release new music and videos alongside CultDeep. The self produced artist mixes genres effortlessly, his emotive melodies alongside relatable lyrics hooks you. Definitely one to watch, Skribblez is an example of homegrown talent.


Acts Nuff Hungry, Dreako, Taff and Abiiogenesis X Zaye will also be performing!



Friday 30th of July at The Green Door Store


Dutch artist Kymara who has recently dropped the beautiful single Home ft Bobbie Johnson will be headlining at Green Door on the 30th July! The Brighton based artist is currently working on her EP alongside her band and told me she is set to start recording it soon. Kymara is also going on tour from the 27th August to the 7th of September supporting band Bare Jams, in the Netherlands.



The soulful KianVsLife will also be performing. The Brighton based artist is a chameleon of styles combining Bedroom Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B and Soul fluidly backed by soundscapey production. Collaborating with dereck d.a.c, Kian continues to produce unique organic tracks illustrating his artistic brilliance and establishing himself in the Brighton music scene.


Wednesday 4th August at Green Door


Continuing at the brilliant Green Door Store on the 4th of August, the incredible duo SHOUL will be kicking of the night at 8pm. The pair, who met at University, began creating music during the lockdowns with no access to studios; the pair recorded all instruments and vocals in a wardrobe. Their DIY use of space has created unique, organic sounds, illustrating how they, as creatives, have survived during the lockdowns and the limitations it brought. SHOUL have already released 3 tracks, channeling a fresh mixture of R&B, indie pop and jazz. The duo have already built a following and no doubt we will be seeing a lot more from them!



Amber Bourgoyne will follow on from SHOUL for an hour slot at 9pm with some gorgeous jazz. The verified artist on Spotify already has 14,900 plus monthly listeners! Bourgoyne who is 23, is a singer-songwriter from Essex and her career is flourishing. The artist has already been invited to play at Ronnie Scotts in London and supported Winston Surfshirt in Brighton. Bourgoyne’s beautiful rich voice accompanied by acoustic guitar and smooth sax will leave you begging for more.




The incredible Bobbie Johnson will be the final act of the night. Rapper and Producer Johnson has supported Rag N Bone Man, Roots Manuva and The Pharcyde. She has gained the nickname the Rapping Adele from her fans. Johnson has released 10 tracks and collaborated with a variety of artists. The Hip Hop artist who tackles a variety of subjects in her songs continues to grow demonstrating her brilliant songwriting and ability to take on any genre.



Friday 20th August at Victoria Dalston


Lebeaux, Nava Adè and Kymara will be playing in East London at Victoria Dalston, tickets are free and are sure to be snapped up quickly, so book ASAP! The doors will open at 7pm for a night of soul and jazz with some brilliant up and coming artists.


Kymara is going to be performing her latest tracks. The singer has released 3 beautiful tracks over the last year whilst also presenting a radio show at PlatformB and documenting her lockdown experience as a musician on Youtube.


Artist Nava Adè is also bringing her dreamy, smooth vocals to Dalston. The neo-soul artist has released 3 tracks since 2020 and released her latest single This Love on the 25th of June. Nava Adè signed with QM this year and is working on releasing her EP soon. Nava Adè creativity spills into her music videos accentuating the stories in her songs through videography and rich colours, Nava Adè reels you in both audibly and visually.



Up and coming trio Lebeaux will also be taking the stage at Dalston. Formed in Brighton by lead vocalist Turrell Lebeaux the band's popularity has bloomed. The three piece has supported Afrikan Boy, The Mouse Outfit and Soul II Soul.



Lebeaux musical brilliance has not gone unnoticed, Lebeaux have had 2 sold out shows before the release of their first single and have supported Tokio Myers at the Brighton Dome. The band's unique blend of Pop, RnB and Funk is refreshing alongside brilliant harmonies means there's something for everyone.
